2015 5th Annual HEARS 5K is in the Books
The H5KE event generated over $10,000 for HEARS!
The 5th Annual SERTOMA HEARS 5K Sponsored by SERTOMA and Broadmoor Audiology had a wonderfully successful Walk/Run at Bear Creek Park East on August 29th.
With 125 registered participants and over $10,000 earned for HEARS, this year’s event will go into the books as the most successful ever.
HEARS provides hearing aids and hearing health services to residents in El Paso County in financial need. Approximately 100 clients each year receive hearing aids from this program administered by SERTOMA Clubs in the Colorado Springs area.
With the generosity of our SERTOMA member clubs, hearing health professional sponsors, the generous contributions from the Colorado Springs Chapter of Hearing Loss Association of America and the event participants, we will be able to increase services in 2015 and into 2016.
We wish to thank all our SERTOMA sponsors as well as the hearing health professionals who stepped up. Dr. Deb Powell’s office of Broadmoor Audiology was again our Title Sponsor. Additionally, Dr. Joseph Hegarty of Colorado Springs Ear Associates, three Hearing Life office sponsorships coordinated by Dr. William Herholz, Dr. Nicole Kovel of Elite Hearing of Colorado Springs and Colorado Springs Health Partners round out the professional service providers whose generosity is putting us over the top.
Thank You All for “Taking Steps to Help Someone Hear” be that a grandparent attending their grandchild’s starring role in the school or church presentation, a productive citizen struggling to gain a job or to maintain their job or an infant diagnosed with hearing loss.
On Behalf of Dick Goven, Director
And the entire HEARS 5K Steering Committee, Thank you!
